The PumpWorks Inc. is a Florida based supplier and distributor of pumps, related accessories and laboratory products. They also manufacture custom vacuum pumping systems for specialized applications in laboratory, R&D, Industrial and Process Manufacturing.
The client wanted to generate revenue through sales on the internet and so he wanted an E-commerce web site with as custom shopping cart that catalogued his merchandize.
The client wanted a ColdFusion web site where the customers could view the company catalogue and request quotes for the equipment. They could shop online by registering on to the web site. He wanted to highlight the special offers and discounts which would be changed from time to time. He wanted to the registered customers to get e-mail updates about the current deals.
For the customers who knew the exact product they want to buy there had to be a quicker way of navigating to the buy section. The admin had to be user friendly with ability to make updates easily and quickly.
Our Solution
The Pumpworks.com Inc. helps the customer buy, rent or exchange selected pumps from a range of pumps catalogued on the web site. The customer needs to be registered on the web site to be able to make a purchase using the shopping cart. Online Credit card payment is available.
The catalogued merchandize comes with a picture of the product, brand, features, specifications and order information. This information helps the customer decide if the product meets his requirements. Quote request and
Catalogue request facilities are also made available on the ColdFusion web site. People who want to stay informed about the latest news can subscribe to the company newsletter.
Customers who know the exact product they want to buy can use the 'Quick Order' feature where you can quickly view the relevant product and buy it using the shopping cart. An advanced search option is also made available on the web site.
The PumpWorks Inc. website incorporates SSL technology by Thawte, Inc. The transactions occur in real time and in case of problem the client can use the helpdesk mail address given in the website. A section is added for people who seek employment with the company. This section lists the current openings along with a form where an employee can fill in his information. Other features include Contact Us form site map etc.
Admin Interface
The Administrator side interface allows the admin to manage/update and add new merchandize in the database. Also he can view details of all members, orders and credit card transactions in addition to managing the shipping rate, promo codes etc. He can update the web site for special messages and discount schemes. Other features made available to the user are mass emails and newsletters, detailed sales reports, listing of customers and orders on the basis of several criteria etc.
